Ralph Hoffmann

Ralph Hoffmann studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover, Germany.
His compositions and arrangements for choir have been published by Carus Verlag (Germany), and he has released two volumes of mixed choir works: CHORAL WORKS and MISA TAGALOG. His compositions have been performed by outstanding choirs in many international choral competitions, among which are “Salve Regina” which won for the Batavia Madrigal Singers a special award at the Florilège Vocal de Tours in France in 2014, and “Alma Redemptoris Mater” which also won for the Novo Concertante Manila a special award at the 1st Lanna International Choral Competition in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2016.
He moved to the Philippines in 2003, and taught Music and English at the German European School Manila. He has lectured in workshops and taught composition and analysis at the Asian Institute For Liturgy and Music (AILM). Hoffmann has been invited to adjudicate several times in the National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA), the Civil Service Commission Government Choral Competition, and the Musikahan sa Tagum in Mindanao. In addition, he has been commissioned by these three major Philippine choral competitions to compose the compulsory pieces for several years. He has actively contributed to the development of Philippine choral scene through his compositions and arrangements, and as an active member of the jury of various national choral competitions.
