Composed in 2020 for the Philippine Baptist theological Seminary Tanglaw Singers Virtual Ensemble, Look! is a personal reflection on suffering, death, and life. The pandemic wrought a great deal of suffering, and we have witnessed people succumb to the disease. For a moment, music seemed nowhere to be found. One sunny morning in the woods, the composer realized that music hasn’t actually left us but in fact, it is all around us. In our silence, that powerful music deep within the core of our being grew louder and louder. In the midst of darkness, hope shines brighter, life will go on, and music will live on.
