Irama Belia was commissioned in 2003 by the co-curricular branch of Singapore’s Ministry of Education as a set-piece for the central judging of local school choirs. There are four versions of Irama Belia available: SSA, SSAA, SAB and SATB choir. With lyrics written by Brother Collin Wee and music composed by Zechariah Goh, this song is about the rhythm of youths and their vitality and also about harmony amongst the different races of Singapore.
