Licensing and Permissions
Do I need permission to perform a piece after purchasing the score?
No additional permission is required for live performance. Public performance rights are included when you purchase the required number of original copies or licensed PDF copies for your performers.
Can I record our performance?
Yes. Non-commercial recordings for educational or internal purposes, such as school documentation or rehearsal review, are permitted at no additional cost.
Can I livestream or publish our performance recording?
Public distribution of performance recordings, including livestreaming or uploading to publicly accessible platforms, requires a separate licence. Commercial use may also require additional licensing. Please contact us to arrange the appropriate licence.
Can I print the lyrics in a concert programme?
Yes. Full song lyrics may be included in printed concert programmes distributed to audience members, provided appropriate attribution is given, including the arranger or composer and “Published by Muziksea”.
Reproducing musical notation from the published score in a programme is not permitted without prior written permission.
Do I need to apply for performance rights?
No separate application is required for a live performance when the required number of licensed copies has been purchased.
Additional licensing may be required for recording, public distribution, livestreaming, or commercial use.
Can a score be used in a reading session booklet?
Use of a Muziksea score in a reading session, conference booklet, workshop material, or similar publication requires prior written permission. Requests are considered on a case-by-case basis.
Can I contact a composer or arranger?
We do not share composers’ or arrangers’ contact information directly, but we are happy to pass your message along to them.
Ordering and Payment
How will I receive my score after purchase?
Your licensed PDF will be available for immediate download in your Muziksea account and also emailed to you. If you do not receive it, check your spam folder or log into your account under Order History.
Can I photocopy the score?
You may reproduce the score only up to the number of copies you have licensed. If you need more, please purchase additional copies through the website.
I made a mistake in the quantity or email. Can I fix it?
Because licensed PDFs are delivered immediately after purchase, completed orders cannot normally be modified or cancelled.
Please check your email address, quantity, and other order details carefully before completing checkout.
If you require additional copies after placing an order, you may place a follow-up order. If the required quantity is not available through the website, please contact us.
I didn’t receive my PDF. What should I do?
First, check your spam or junk folder.
You can also access your purchase through:
Muziksea account → Order History → Details → Download using the link
Can I rearrange the piece for my choir?
Any alteration, adaptation, revoicing, or arrangement of a published work requires prior written permission. Please contact us before making changes.
Invoicing and School Orders
Can you support school purchase orders or manual invoicing?
Yes. We support school and institutional purchasing workflows in selected countries.
Singapore
E-invoices can be issued through Vendors@Gov. Please contact us directly for institutional purchasing.
Taiwan
Institutional purchasing and invoicing support is available through our authorised Taiwan distribution partner.
United States
We can support institutional purchasing, including purchase orders and vendor registration. As a Singapore-based publisher, we can provide the appropriate non-US tax documentation upon request.
Manual orders may require additional processing time and, where applicable, administrative charges.
Is it cheaper to purchase through the website?
Website checkout is generally the fastest and most cost-effective purchasing method, with:
- Immediate delivery of licensed PDF scores
- Automatically generated invoices
- No administrative processing fees
Publishing with Muziksea
How do I submit my choral work for publication?
We welcome submissions from composers and arrangers.
Please send:
- A PDF of the score
- A demo or rehearsal recording (if available)
- A programme note or description of the piece
- Your short professional biography
Our editorial team will review your submission and respond if it fits our publishing direction.
What types of music does Muziksea publish and look for?
Muziksea focuses on choral works by composers and arrangers from Southeast Asia, as well as works with strong cultural, linguistic, musical, or educational connections to the region. We welcome folk arrangements, original compositions, educational repertoire, contemporary works, and music representing underrepresented traditions and languages.
Can I publish music other than choral music with Muziksea?
Muziksea is currently focused exclusively on choral music. We do not publish instrumental-only works or other genres at this time.
Will my work be exclusive to Muziksea?
Accepted works are published under an exclusive publishing agreement. Full terms are provided during the contracting process.
Do I still own the copyright?
Yes you remain the copyright holder. Muziksea acts as the exclusive publisher and administrator for the work while it’s under contract.
Can I still perform or share the piece myself?
Yes. As the composer or arranger, you may:
- Perform your own work
- Share demo recordings or videos through your personal or ensemble channels
- Promote the work through your professional activities
Once a work has been published by Muziksea, sheet music sales, licensing, and score distribution are administered through Muziksea in accordance with the publishing agreement.
If you wish to share or distribute the score in a specific situation, such as a reading session, private collaboration, or educational outreach, please contact us.
What is the royalty rate?
Royalty terms vary by agreement and are provided to composers before publication.
Will my piece be edited?
Yes. All submissions are reviewed editorially. We may suggest changes to engraving, layout, or notation to meet house style standards. We will always consult you before finalising any changes.
Do I need to clear any rights before submitting an arrangement?
Yes. If you are arranging a copyrighted work (text or melody), you must provide proof of permission from the rights holder. Muziksea does not accept arrangements of copyrighted material without clearance.
Will my work be available in both digital and printed formats?
Muziksea primarily publishes licensed digital editions. Selected works may also be made available in print depending on market demand and distribution arrangements.
Will my piece be sold outside Southeast Asia?
Yes. Muziksea serves customers internationally and distributes Southeast Asian choral repertoire to audiences, choirs, educators, and organisations around the world.
