Dimitrij Ray

Dimitrij Ray is an arranger and composer born in Jakarta.
He sang with the ITB Student Choir (Bandung Institute of Technology) under the late Adi Nugroho, and was also a member of the Nederlands Studenten Kamerkoor, under the direction of Kurt Bikkembergs. Dimitrij studied composition and arranging with Nathan Iskandar.
His works have been performed by ensembles such as the ITB Student Choir, Saint Angela Choir, and Kancatala Ensemble. Dimitrij has also received recognition in several composition and arrangement competitions, with notable works including his arrangement of “Kambang Goyang”, a Banjarnese folk song; “1825”, a setting of Chairil Anwar’s poem Diponegoro; and “Dic nobis, Maria”, a setting of the liturgical text Victimae paschali laudes.
