Ulek Putri Mali Pulang [Medley of Malaysian Folksongs and Rhymes] (SATB)

This is an unaccompanied choral arrangement that combines four well-loved Malaysian folksongs and rhymes: Ulek Mayang (Terengganu folksong), Puteri Santubong (Sarawak folksong), Chan Mali Chan (Nusantara folksong), and Bapaku Pulang dari Kota (a children’s rhyme by Nasir Yusof).

This medley moves through distinct sections, beginning with the ethereal and calm tones of Ulek Mayang, transitioning to the melodic and lyrical flow of Puteri Santubong. The mood then shifts to the lively and playful rhythms of Chan Mali Chan, and concludes with the cheerful simplicity of Bapaku Pulang dari Kota.
