Jauh di Mata [Far Yet Close] (SATB)

This lovely song expresses the longing for a distant loved one in its lyrics and its beautiful melody with its descending semitones (like a musical sigh) and wide ascending leaps. The song is mostly soft to convey intimacy, with occasional loud moments for the emotional outpourings in the lyrics and melody. The flow picks up after some small harmonic variations in the bridge to repeat the song and settle into a gentle merengue rhythm. Towards the end, Jauh di Mata returns to its simple opening, builds up to a short final climax before leading to a gentle close of longing.
