Sound the Trumpet (SAB)

$5.00

Written by Henry Purcell, Sound the Trumpet is the fourth movement of a larger work entitled “Come Ye Sons of Art”, written in 1694. The entire large work is written as an ode for the birthday celebration of Queen Mary. Primarily, it is written as a duet for two countertenors, singing imitatively.

This arrangement is arranged for a three-part mixed voice choir. This Baroque piece has a lot of pedagogical benefits for singers in younger mixed choruses. The tonal center used in this arrangement is carefully selected according to the vocal range of the students in middle school and/or junior high school to sing and interpret the piece with comfort and grandeur.
