Ringkinding-kinding (SATB)
“Ringkinding-kinding” is a popular Eastern Visayan folk song. Although it is said that this song traces its roots to the Province of Aklan and is entitled “Aringkinding-kinding”, the melody and lyrics used in that part of the country is rather different from the one found in Eastern Visayas. In this choral arrangement, the title of the song - along with other neutral syllables - have been repeatedly used as a devise to accompany its short and simple melody. Based on the song’s lyrics, the use of the term “ringkinding-kinding” may be interpreted as an expressive form of endearment or pampering given to a cute little child while at the same time delightfully teasing or tickling him or her.
