Yoa Min Jyh

Yoa Min Jyh was born in Sabah, Malaysia and graduated from the Malaysian Institute of Art in 2017 with a Diploma in Music and was awarded Best Student of the year. Min Jyh is a piano and vocal teacher, and a choir conductor at Young Choral Academy. 

As a choir conductor, she was awarded Best Conductor (Primary Category) in the Malaysian Choral Eisteddfod (MCE) National Choir Competition in 2018. 

Min Jyh completed her Australian Kodàly Certificate in Music Education - Primary Level III in 2018 and also participated in choral composition masterclasses with Dr Zechariah Goh in 2019.

Min Jyh furthered her studies at Middlesex University, London, UK where she recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours) majoring in Music in 2021. During her time at Middlesex University, she majored in piano under the tutelage of Laura O’Gorman. She also studied composition and composed music for screen, virtual reality (VR) cinema, as well as music for dance, theatre and for live shows. Currently, she is assisting Ms Susanna Saw as Assistant Conductor of the award-winning Malaysian Institute of Arts’ Ladies Chorus.
