Popatapo (SSAA)

$5.00

Popatapo was composed by Mozes Petta in 2007. The piece draws inspiration from a traditional children’s game of the Maluku region in eastern Indonesia, known as Tumbu Tumbu Blanga. In this game, children rhythmically chant and act out playful motions such as pounding a pot (blanga) or mimicking the sound of a gong, accompanied by expressions and gestures. The word Popatapo serves as a joyful signal that the players are engaged in the game.
