新娘来啦 Here Comes the Bride (SATB)

Written in 1999, this piece features lyrics penned by Leong himself, portraying the lively and joyous atmosphere of a traditional Chinese wedding procession. Through vibrant melodies and rhythmic vitality, the composition captures the celebratory spirit associated with such occasions. 

“Here Comes the Bride” was among the works featured in the 2009 concert “Leong Yoon Pin – A Choral Odyssey,” which celebrated the composer’s contributions to Singapore’s choral music scene.

Leong Yoon Pin (1931 – 2011) was a composer, conductor and educator. Described as the doyen of Singapore composers, Leong was well known for his choral compositions, many of which were locally commissioned and performed by both amateur and professional choirs. His compositions were often infused with a local flavour. Leong was awarded the Cultural Medallion in 1982.
